Some of you may know my constant trouble, well I've finally got together cash to mot and fix all the crap wrong with it and I've went to start her and its only been 2 weeks since I've started her (been starting it weeklyish) usually has a wee misfire til warm then it goes away, now this time it went from a wee misfire to dying n coughing when i touch the accelerator was reving fine when cold
What's wrong now any ideas? I'm strongly considering stripping her for parts - I've just about had enough.[/img]

OK hard to stay calm here mate... 1st things 1st
Has the car got enough petrol???
If you can get someone to turn it over while you put your hand over the exhaust your hand should smell of fumes but not alot of petrol if it smells of alot of petrol then take the spark plugs out and check if they are wet and smelling of too much petrol once you do this then post back your findings..

Could be igniter related. Check for ecu codes.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] problem after problem
think ive fixed it unsure though was a slightly slack boost pipe clamp.... might not be that but its stopped doing what it was doing lol. old cars
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] problem after problem
Lol mate maintanace is key on these cars
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] problem after problem
Constant maintenance is what I'm doing
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] problem after problem
if you have recently bought it or your fed up with constant fixing bits might i suggest you take the car off the road and give the engine a good overhaul while its off have a good inspection of suspension components and the rest just to gauge what might be ready to go wrong or what might need replacing urgently or not so urgently...
Another option start collecting the parts you will need for a complete overhaul
I've recently got my car back from the body shop after an extensive restoration of the chasis inner and outer sills done new wind screen the full works but that whole process was over a year in the doing.
The engine i've stripped my self and rebuilt with new bits.
Just a suggestion as i think cars of Rev1/2 age do quite well with the problems they have example would not want to have a vauxhaull or ford of this age Hope the above gives you some ideas as to which way u can go
