Have aquired a system made I think by Magnex themselves before takeover by Mongoose
A few issues have arisen on preparing to fit it
1. There is a bracket like this fastened to the back of the engine just forward of the driveshaft
The foot of the bracket clamps to the stock frontpipe
Can't be used with my Magnex as the foot comes just where the flexy is located
Have removed it but not happy
2. The rubberised connector which supports the pipe is no longer available from Mr T & I need one
3. The rubberised silencer supports are no longer available under their original AW11 part numbers but Mr T has the same items under new part numbers (used on other models)

That's the first one of those I've seen that hasn't rusted through ! Don't worry about removing it - I've run 3 Mk1s, with Janspeed or Mongosse exhausts, all with this bracket removed without a problem

Thanks for that Martin
Will be OK so long as I can find a way of replacing the rubberised pipe support then

Re: Magnex Exhaust
It does next to nothing, just leave it off, consider it weight saving, we know you like that.
Re: Magnex Exhaust
The rubber itself doesn't look too bad - just clean it up ( and the bracket ) and stick it back in with RTV Silicone
Re: Magnex Exhaust
Tried sticking it with Araldite but as you see it came apart agan
Will try to get some RTV silicone
Yes the rubber & metal bits ar both OK

Re: Magnex Exhaust
Araldite is too rigid to bond to rubber. RTV should do the job though, just make sure the surfaces to be bonded are clean
Re: Magnex Exhaust
Yes, that should do the job

Thanks, will check that out Alex
Re: Magnex Exhaust
There are two of these rubberised mountings, one at each end of the silencer
The AW11 part numbers were 17430A and 17430S (although both seem exactly same to me)
The above numbers are superseded by 17508-16031 (evidently they're used on a newer Mr T model)
So no problem getting these at the mo (about £16 each )

Mine is broken as shown here
Item no longer available from Mr T
I did away with this years ago and never had any issues without it. If anything it was limiting the exhaust movement and putting more stress on the manifold joint.

The short numbers you have quoted are not part numbers. They're just part description codes taken from the depiction diagrams.
A proper Toyota part number will generally be in the "12345-67890" format.

I agree but that does not alter the fact that those parts are only now available under superseded part numbers
The parts man at my local Mr T branch was able to confirm that from the description codes which I showed him
