Water in Footwells

Post by elbon50 »

Having stopped the ingress through the T-bar panels I'm getting small amounts of water into the outer rear corners of the footwells

It's getting through near the mirror triangles on the doors

Is there a method of adjusting anything to solve that problem please ?

After the cold dry weather it rained today & there was a small pool on the drivers side :(

I had that a while ago after some arsehole broke my wing mirror off with a baseball bat. If you take the doorcard off you can remove the wing mirror bracket and amend plate if it's bent or needs bending to stop water coming in.

Mine creaps in on the window seal halfway up the diagonal. Its only a tiny dribble on both sides, when its raining.

I've just drilled a couple of 1mm holes in the floor where the water collects. For a track car with no carpets it was less bother than trying to stop the water getting in.

If you drill some holes it'll make the car lighter lol

If it's getting in round the windows you can adjust the window glass to sit a bit tighter against the rubber trim. :thumleft:

You can also rub some silicone grease onto the rubbers to soften them - after years of exposure to the elements the rubber tends to stiffen a little and not seal as well
