New member 2nd mr2
Hi guys just bought my second mr2 as I miss my old one so much. Used to own a rev1 na t-bar and spent a fortune on it, stupidly swapped it for a gt4 and regretted it ever since. Now while searching gumtree the other day I came across a rev3 sunroof model for only 350 coins. No mot or tax but only 72k on the clock with old mots to prove. Been standing for 18 months so gonna need some cobwebs blowing away and needs a alternator which comes with the car anyway! Picking it up next week and I can't wait. Will post pics once I have it so for now farewell

Welcome.
Glad to hear you've picked one up. It'll be a lot better than the rev1! Funny, I think about getting a gt4 sometimes, they sound like 4wd mr2s... I guess they are heavier, maybe less fun?

Better get posting then
I much preferred the mr2 if I'm honest, more fun to drive!

Re: New member 2nd mr2
Had the car delivered on Friday, I bought the car blind as it was 60 miles away but had loads of pics sent, I have to say the car is in great nick. Changing the alternator tomorro and giving it a full service while I'm on. Can someone tell me the best oil to use? And I'm using twin tip plugs! Does anyone else use these?
Re: New member 2nd mr2
The alternator took 2 days to change as the last guy had rounded the bolt that attached it to the housing so had to take the whole lot out and grind it off, new one fitted and throttle adjusted as it wasn't ticking over. Running great now after service, alternator and cable done. Mot on Friday so fingers crossed

Looks a tidy car mate. Just a point to note:
Your rear reflectors have been painted over, and as such should fail an MOT as they're an MOT requirement.

Yeah I know, and I have no idea why the last owner done it, each to their own gonna have a try scrape it off tomorro

Ok so quick update....
Bought some nice staggered rota slipstreams, a momo steering wheel, front strut brace, and a x brace. Will get pics of them soon.
Also made this ......
Look like this......
Not everyone's cup of tea I know. Next to fit the wheels, new exhaust for mot, strut braces, steering wheel and mats and have a go at making my drab boring dials look a little more modern

Re: New member 2nd mr2
If you were keeping the rear lights white it would look better to have no split between centre panel and lights units. It's be a huge pain in the ass but making up a panel blended into the lights would be cool(er)
Re: New member 2nd mr2
Thought I'd do a quick update.
New exhaust fitted ( standard for mot )
New steering wheel
Tidied up dials a bit to take the chav look away
New alloys
New midship badge
New front strut brace
New plugs, oil, filter and leads
That's it at the min, been a slow progress as works been taking up a lot more of my time than I hoped. But here's how she stands at the min.
Due in for mot after weekend at last.
Dials before
After
General boring crap pics of the car on my drive
Rear lights are as good as I could get them as the were painted good and proper. On the look out for some new lens
Next plans are mot, aftermarket exhaust and de cat.
