5sfe is the pump to use with a Rev 1 or 2 sump and oil pick up

Look what came in the post today, my 5SFE oil pump.

blacktop beams oil pump with later revision sump is best for high revs.
the rev4 3sgte pump is the same as the redtop beams pump and is also higher volume than the rev3 pump,
but the blacktop beams is a higher volume pump still by about 10%

here is oil pressure graph of red top beams/ rev4 3sgte pump.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] oil pump upgrade in n/a rev3 3sge
The problems with all the stock pumps is cavitation at high RPM, they are going too fast and are unable to lift the oil out of the sump.
A dry sump system is the right way to go for 8500 rpm and above.

dry sump is better but expensive.
best stock pump is the blacktop beams redline is 7800 stock.
inside is different to red top
blacktop pump specs:
95 psi @ 9000 RPM and 102 @ 9400
the blacktop rev counter goes red from 7-10k rpm. yep its got 10Krpm on the tacho.

is my question? now
dry sump kit will be on its way
thanks for the good replys!

It fits as long as you use the rev4 onwards upper sump pan.

You'll need Rev4-5 JDM N/A only.

So you're telling that gen3 3sgte pump will cavitate with higher rpm.
Can you please tell for me what kind of experiece you have within case and what the cavitation makes for pump?
I have been fighting long time with the pump issue with my circuit track mr2.
Pumps (3 already) keeps eating its housing and crap from gears will make very bad scratches inside of the engine. I have been thinking that oil is moving out from sump at cornesrs and using dry too long time causes the scenario. Modified sump looks to make damage inside of the pump lighter but haven't got complete succes. If the reving over can broke pump like that thats option for me also. Limiter is up to 8000rpm but it goes easily higher with lower gears because soft limiter on ecu software.
Latest idea is to fit dry sump for it - BUT - If genuine pump is still in use but it's need for lift is reduced because tank is higher, can this issue still continue or not?
How the black top oilpump differs if it's cabable to 10k? What is the difference between upper sump peace of it and gen3? Is it available to modified it to fit gen3 or is it totally different? Example 5s pump body looks same as gen3 3s but with overal pressure controller, crankshaft sensor etc and available quite easily modified to fit gen3 3s.
