I'm completely baffled by the stereo in my SE. It has an aux in port, but I can't work out how to switch the input so it actually plays from thd aux input.
Any ideas? There is a button above the aux port (below) but it doesn't appear to do anything

Its a headphone socket
No idea really, usually you press source or something, but it looks too old for that. I had a stereo once with and aux input, but no source button, it took me 2 months to figure out you had to press the CD button twice

Re: Retro stereo help...
Given the line around CD and aux in, try the CD button. Otherwise... Press until something happens

Thanks chaps
A word with the previous owner confirms that the CD button should switch it to the aux in. After pressing it many many times, I can confirm that it doesn't work
Given that my electrical knowledge goes as far as knowing which way round the batteries go in the TV remote, I'll get my old man to have a look at it at some point - he's a retired electronic engineer.

Yep, that was my other option. I remember having one of those in my first car (a 950cc Citroen AX), along with a Sony discman mounted on the dash and a couple of 6x9s on the parcel shelf

Re: Retro stereo help...
Even better as You´ll won´t need a extern mp3 player by using one of these:

Re: Retro stereo help...
It´s the perfect solution IMHO. No fly around extern player needed, easy to update on the computer and it evan have a headphone jack so You can use it outsite the car too. And the best: It´s cheap.
