Hypothetically speaking how hard would it be to add a supercharger to an existing turbocharged build? What would be required?

One net gain is significantly reduced lag but what are the potentially downsides?

What would be required?

Money. Lots of it. Get enough of it together and you'll be able to overcome not only the hypothetical difficulties, but the practical ones too.

I am pretty sure I saw a twin charged mk1. Lots of people dream and very very few do I think.

i think you will find it costs lots and is a large pain in the rear end..

I've seen one example of a MK2 setup, looks pretty special too. I wasn't sure of the logistics of it all, as on paper it looks like being a matter of bolting on an SC, plumbing it in and mapping. I guess ignorance is bliss on this occasion then

You would have no lag, but how would you put the power to the ground.
On my new engine I do not want boost to start till I am 3500 and above

Last dyno run mapping we ran out of time but was 448whp max and 300lbft at 2500rpm!!!

Had some electro magnetic clutch problems which was due to a mistake in the wiring which is now sorted, I'm also planning on a new pressure sensor by the turbo but I'm not gonna go into details at the mo.

Pretty certain were talking about the earlier torque being 300lb at 2.5k and rising.
Certainly not 448hp at 2.5k! That I'm sure is virtually impossible on any car in the world.


Are we certain this is whp and not flywheel numbers if you were running into problems?

"Finished" is such a definitive term.

It's been run up on a dyno a couple of times now. The last session showed up some improvements that we could make to manage the airflow between the turbocharger and supercharger which have now been done. The next step is to take it back to the dyno but that's not going to happen until the snow is long gone!

Depending upon your goals, the level of technology already present in your car and your hardware preferences I think you could achieve twincharging quite cost effectively.

Problems I'm having is with cams, I'm running HKS 264 intake and 272 exhaust but they never came with there dial in sheets so there not set up right. I'm guessing there's better cams out there for my set up? What do you think Patrick?

Also the GT35 I'm using is a hybrid Owens one and Ryan and I are not sure about it.

Also I got through 3 electro magnet clutches before we noticed the circuit was not switching off when told to by the ECU due to back emf easy fix was to put a diode between its live and ground.

Many dead clutches......

Toni's twincharger is now rivalling the Madpsi Ducktail bootlid for the title of 'perpetually in production' now, lol. I'm sure both will be worth the wait in the end
