1996 Rev 3 turbo Track car

Post by bri0905 »

Hi,

I'm very reluctantly placing this car for sale. Sadly due to a mixture of not having the space and being self employed and not very busy i could do with freeing up the money it is worth. Please don't read this as "Desperate for cash" and offer me pennies as i just won't be letting it go silly cheap.

The car has been in our family since 21/03/2003 when my dad bought to fulfil a small mid-life crisis. I was given it when he got too old to get in and out easily and has been used on the road for a small amount of that time. Over the last 3 years i've been slowly prepping it for track use and the thing that is most annoying is that it is now useable and will be so much fun.

Milage when my dad bought it was 40366 but the only paperwork i have is an mot with a DVLA stamp which i assume was when it was brought in and sva'd or mot'd the first time which does say 40956km on june 13th 2002

The next MOT was March 10th 2003 @ 40366 which just confuses me more.

However in my dads ownership it did very little mileage and the next one i have shows 09th may 2005 49280

Then 25th may 2006 54236

After that i got it and its spent a lot of time SORN and without an MOT but i'm sure i have some more to confirm a mileage now of 61848

The car as it stands is SORN, but should anyone wish i can get 12 months mot on it with a few days notice.

Service wise we have very little receipts as i have always done what is needed. It had a cam belt around 2 years ago and i'm sure i kept the receipts for the parts but i cant find them right now. Oil has been done every 5-6000 miles using genuine toyota filters and high quality oil.

Car is now running wastegate pressure which is 0.6 bar on my gauge, i have a stronger spring but when i fitted it boost was up north of 1.2 bar so went back to this one and planned on fitting a bleed valve to get up to around a bar and then hit the track. Should be pretty rapid at that pressure.

Engine

Rev 3 unopened block
Garrett 3076r turbo on std manifold with tial copy external wastegate
Custom charge cooler using a large rear mounted rad and marine pump from advanced vehicle tuning
Custom side exit exhaust
Std rev 3 gearbox with toyota LSD

Body

Front bumper is std but removed the fogs and slats
Bonnet is Genuine ASK sport item which originally was on Nathans World beater, but sadly has some damage so is far from perfect. I have cut the front bulkhead behind the rad to let the air flow.
Side vents are large hole items modified by me to remove the centre bar.

Interior

Stripped out minus the dash and sound deadening stuck to the floor
Carbon door cards
Full performance products roll cage which is suitable to be used in the mr2 race series padded where needed
Bucket seats are not in the best nick but perfectly useable and are momo carbon kevlar, Very light
TRS 5 point harnesses dated to 2015
Deep dish suade sparco wheel

Suspension Wheels+Tyres

Standard rev3 black bilsteins
Polybushes everywhere they fit
Suspension Techniques Anti roll bars front and rear
Strut braces front and rear, however the front one doesn't fit with this bonnet
Enkei rp01 16" alloys 7" front and 8"
Tyres are all brand new Hankook Ventus R-s2 225/50/16 rear and 205/45/16 front

Brakes

CRN 40 groove discs front and rear
EBC yellowstuff pads front and rear
Goodridge Braided lines front and rear
STD Calipers

Things i will be doing before sale

Completing the screamer pipe
Plumbing in a catch tank from the rocker cover
Final fitting on the air filter
Making a bracket to support the exhaust, it doesn't move much but don't want to risk any cracking

Price i'd like is £4000 which will include the std bonnet, some oil and some octane booster. The tank is full of optimax.

Any questions please ask here or pm me for mobile number to talk.

Test drives are ok, as the car is stored at work which has a small amount of private road, enough to get up to around 80mph. However as no-one will be insured you must agree to buy it should you stick it in the field.

Thanks

Bri

Not sure but probably not much more than standard. If I get the screamer pipe done next week I may take it for a power run to confirm. Would you have any ideas on power?

Found my receipt for some parts.

In feb 2008 it had,

Cam belt
Two Tensioners
Idler pulley
Clutch
Fuel filter
Denso iridium plugs

Has done very little mileage since then so belt would be due again in 2 years if it was to be changed every 6 years.

Thanks
