What are the best uprated 6.5" door speakers that fit without MDF spacers etc?
Looking to replace my tired stock speakers.

Done some digging, and found that anything up to 55mm depth will clear the window.

They certainly do sound good. Recommended.

Why would you install coaxial speakers when the Mk2 has components as standard?

I removed the stock ones, so everything comes through the 6.5s with built in tweeters.
Sounds pretty good.

In addition, I'd take 2012 coaxial speakers over 1994 components
I'm not massively into ICE etc, as long as it sounds good, I'm happy. And it does.

You will find you lose the left high frequency sound when you have a passenger and their leg is blocking the path from the door speaker to your ear, and you won't hear the right high frequency sound as clearly as it's down by your knee! HF is very directional which is why people use components, it's better to have the high frequency stuff as near to ear height as possible.
