Hello,
I have a Mk1 with Eibach springs, Koni adjustable schock absorbers, Super Pro bushings and Whiteline ARB.
When I take a highspeed (110 - 120 km/h) long corner to the left it feels like the the car goes off the line (understeer) although I 'm certainly not at the grip limit of the tires. It feels like the back is pushing the car to the exit of the corner.
After testing a little with the adjustable schock absorbers, I took a look under the car and I think I found the reason for the strange behavior.
Please look at the pictures I took after a test drive.
Left side:
Right side:
You can clearly see the ARB is moving sideways and this is in my opinion not normal!
The bushings are the right size and I'm sure the brackets are well thightened.
Do you think this could be caused by to much movement of the sway bar ends?
Should they be mounted the other way?
Everything is +/-6months old and I passed our Belgian MOT without any problem.
Did any of you have another idea? Similar problem with same setup?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Frank

I would be tempted to remove the drop links (sway bar ends) and rotate one end so the ball joints both face the same way then re test.
It looks like the ball joints may not have enough movement.

Ok, I'll test that.
When looking at the pictures, I found the positionning of the drop links also a little strange.
I'll keep you posted!
Thanks,
Frank

Yup the rear drop link ball joints should both point outwards, or they do atleast on mine.
