intake panel won't clip in?

Post by sam1176uk »

Probably an easy fix, but my drivers side air intake panel (between the door and rear wheel) won't clip in at the bottom, how do I get into the back of it to see why?
The round headed clip is on the panel but it won't clip properly into the hole and just hangs out.
Hope that makes sense and someone can help!

inside the car remove the rear plastic cover from beneath the seatbelt, then unbolt the seatbelt reel (two nuts). behind that your see a nut in line with the rub strip (outside the car), i think its about 12mm, remove this and thats one half of the rub strip removed. the other half of the rub strip is removed by a bolt inside the rear wheel arch (again in line with the rub strip,

with these off, remove the rub strip and the vent then pulss away :thumleft:

Do I need to take it off in order to get the clip to go in?

Does the plastic cover just pull off, along with the engine lid lever?

Pull the lever forward and you will see a screw holding the engine lid release surround on. Remove this and the side panel will pull off. You may need to remove the cubby box lid, which is three or four screws across the back, but I managed mine by just lifting the cubby lid up
