I've been keeping the blog up to date, as it was easier and allows me to easily get all the pictures I need at the end to show an amateur build.

http://miamigt4kitcar.blogspot.co.uk/

* £25k is the lot to be on the road in my view, so everything below;

Buying kit, Delivery of kit

Donor car - keep bits wanted, shot blasted and powder coated relevant bits. Engine work (metal headgasket etc...)

New parts - all bearings, bushes, tie rods, radiator, fans etc....

Spraying of the car

wheels - second hand potentially although will of been refurbished. If not the price will increase slightly for the right wheels.

Realisticly cheapest it could be done is around £20k minimum then spend bits getting to higher standard over time, however if you can import via a VAT registered company you'll save a couple of K there...something I couldn't do unfortunately!

Keep going Buddy, you'll have something pretty unique at the end and something to be immensely proud of - I can't even get a side skirt to fit #-o

I havent got to the nice parts and finishes yet, that really is the tricky bit!

Well i've been doing the wiring and I now know the charging and starting system on the Mr2 very well.

I did a small test yesterday as I'm waiting on an extra long battery to starter lead, so just turned the ignition and heard some relays click so looks like I've wired it up ok so far!

hoping to properly start the car this week or next. The wiring to actually fire up the car is very simple on an MR2 in terms of what you can ignore.

It only requires 5 cables to the rear fusebox / relay holder to be connected. The wriing there does all thats required.

Anyway with all hooked up I did a first test turn over, no fuel obviously but with Oil in.

Looking forward to hopefully an easy start of the engine (fingers crossed)

the car moved today for first time via its own power (pretty chuffed). I have a small video but I uploaded straight on to the blog which seems to of been a mistake as I cant link separately so can only say look at the blog!

You'll also see in the video the space ive been building the car...or lack of space should I say :lol:
