When are we going to see some type V skirts from Russ?

Post by Rory »

Does anyone know when (or if) Russ @ RMG Developments is going to start producing some Type V skirts? Im sure i remember someone talking about it on the old IMOC site. Wouldnt mind a pair in a few months to go with my Type G splitter!

To be honest, it's unlikely that Russ will make a type "V" sideskirt as the market is already saturated with cheap Veilside copies. Most of these fit very badly (resists temptation to post pictures) so the money saved is spent at the bodyshop trying to get them to fit better. Sadly, most people learn this after they've made the mistake!

very bad, a very good fitter can adjust them to fit but it takes a long time.

There seems to be bad and good out there with no way to tell the difference until you offer them up to your car with the various pieces removed.

I got mine from Jayse Croft - mtte.com and they were practically a perfect fit.

Before fitting they *look* like all the others out there - in primer etc.

Difficult one really. I didn't want to go through the lottery process with my Veilside back bumper so had Jayse source me an original one.

My front end is Bomex copy, and that took a little fettling to get right. I didn't get this part from Jayse though.....

Seems you get what you pay for.....

Old Mr Croft, he's a lad ain't he!
I remember him telling me the same story, perfect fit spot-on copies etc etc.
I wouldn't really call it perfect as such, more borderline atrocious!

And there lies the problem really, it's all down to luck, with the suppliers buying them in and selling them on etc...

Mine were practically spot on - just pure luck I guess.....

Its like this.......
I have a set of Veilside skirts which are a bad fit,
If i knew it would be worth my while i would reshape them on my car and then make moulds.
But as Patrick said, people would sooner buy cheaper ill fitting ones ( then complain they dont fit right ) and pay more for a bodyshop to put them right, which dont make sense.
Its like a lot of things.
You get what you pay for.
