project rev5 BUK

Post by alan_uk »

well started in febuary when a friend told me he was selling up and after loving this car for quite a while decided i had to have it, i almost missed out but in the end what was meant to be happend and i got the car :)

after owning a rev 2 k reg i knew i wanted a rev 5 and this being a very good example knowing the car and knowing what had been spent on it i was very happy to hand over the £1600 asking price

i would become the third owner and car had full service history with a good list of mods so far inc...

tein super streets + new drop links
grooved new discs all round and ebc green stuff pads
momo boss and wheel
cusco adjustable front strut brace
trd ignition leads
turbo engine lid with gas strut :)
17" bk alloys almost new (graphite grey) with new toyo t1r's front/ avon rears
front 215/40/17 rears 235/45/17
blueflame back box and high flow cat
k+n ind kit
uprated led bulbs in all lights
smoked front and side repeaters
uprated headlights
trd duracon gear knob bronze which i didnt like

anyway here he is when bought my little BUK :)
1st day of ownership after wash and wax :)

next was my windows tinted limo black as you can tell by this point i was going for k.i.t.t theme lol

then next was a single exit exhaust as i wasnt keen on the look of the angle on the blue flame :(

Image

but disaster struck as on the way home from the garage the cam belt snapped after only being on for 4090 miles later found this was due to water pump not being replaced and the pulley sheered the belt :(

Image

£160 later and new belt and water pump and he was as good as new again yippeee lol

so i bought a set of genuine greddy skirts

turbo rear strips with decals

push button start
black leather gear and h/brake gaitors
vac gauge and pod which will be boost gauge once turbo is fitted
richbrooke tax disc holder with rev5 mr2 laster cut :P lol
decided on wheels being black

good choice on skirts and spats on a black rev5 8)

glad you've taken front tints out - you'd forever be in bother with limo on front

not personally keen on smoothed rear panel

love the drop on teins

Thanks

i agree mate the front tints were a pain in the bum and i got in trouble twice in the first week lol that's why they were removed :P

also agree with skirts and spats i was sure i wasn't going to make the same mistake as my last which had veilside lol oops, although admittedly i liked it at the time,

ive just ordered some yellow tint film for the front fog's andlooking for an aeroware splitter

i did like the reverse lights but they wouldnt of matched the tinted rear's so thats my reasoning for removing and smoothing lol (excuse's lol) :thumleft:

on my last mr2 rear 3 were limo, front was 50% and that was pushing it.

i have a black rev5 now - that cost me less than yours heh - got pp rear spats and bomex & toms skirts in garage to paint and fit- cant decide yet. and know what front lip i want but cant find one

i quite like veilside skirts, fitted set with rear bumper and greddy front lip to friends red rev3

Nice mate! Just need some Import rear light clusters now so all the lights look like the outer ones in your pic :thumleft:

Fog light lense bud. Imports don't have rear fog lights, so no fog light mirror on inner lenses.
