Dyno coming up..Guess my HP

Post by RyanRs »

Just wondering what realistic numbers i will be looking at after some more tuning!

Currently at 500fwhp / 422lbft at 1.55bar, only stopped tuning due to fuel pump going bad. The turbo i am using is the HTA version of a GT3582r which uses a anti surge housing and billet compressor wheel, like the GTX35r. 0.82ar exhaust side. I believe the standard GT35r's most efficient between 1.6~2.4bar iirc? and the HTA having the billet compressor -lighter and more surface area on the fins, is most effective between 2bar ~ 3bar ! Im hoping to get the boost up to atleast 2bar so it will put the turbo just inside its effeciency range and should produce a lot more power going from1.55 to 2bar than it did going from 1bar to 1.55 ?? thats the theory anyway. Engine is a 2.14L rev3, std cams and we will be retarding the exhaust cam slightly. My current IAT's are maxing at 41'c on dyno.

Also current tune is on BKR7E's, have gone a grade cooler for this next tune.

am i being over optimistic by hoping for a 100bhp increase?

whats everyone elses guesses... torque figures too :)

I didn't understand much that but I'm going to have a guess at 578fwhp / 456lbft

Hope it all goes well for you :thumleft:

510whp :-k

Good luck, lets see you run 2.5+bar through it and make closer to 600whp

will you be running road fuel for this dyno session? and are you using water/methanol injection?

2.5 bar would be nice! im not setting any limit to how far we will go, well unless it starts getting stupid! see how it goes on the day.

V-power is the fuel of choice, no WI. believe it was chris who made 600fwhp on a normal 35r, vpower and a stock head?

I see quite a few MR2s around in Maidstone, haven't seen yours about though. I keep meaning to go to a Kent meet but I'm always busy

Lol these aren't supposed to be random guesses! more educated predictions given specs and compared to previous builds!!

Psummers, i been about for like 6 years lol. but then again, most people hear me but dont see me

I think ryan will stop you from running to much boost on road fuel.
id guess 560bhp at circa 2.1bar ,unless you raise your octane and get to run 2.5bar with plenty of ignition then you may get what you said :thumleft:

when are you booked in for?

why don't you smack a Meth injection system on it?? (Or if Dog the Bounty Hunter was a car tuner, an ICE injection system  )

Yes i do believe he will limit it also, i would like to avoid the requirement of WI if possable as i have intentions to use nitrous at the low rpms to aid turbo spool and using WI aswell will make things a little too complicated. i was thinking of mixing an alcohol blend with the fuel perhaps?

I recall reading that this doesn't work too well as they tend to separate in your tank instead of staying mixed...
