Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
i car im breaking (rev3 NA) has a set of good magnecor (spelling?) leads and i am thinking of using them on my rev3 turbo, they physically fit so i need to know will they be ok - i cant see any reason why not just need clarification
cheers
Stock leads did 635bhp..... Magnacors failed at 400ish. I'd say that's conclusive. The king lead usually fails first on magnacors. As I said, thay are crap.
not really as im running 300
im no engineer, but what does the power rating of the engine have to do with the capability of the leads, surely a lead delivering a current to the spark plug is irrelevant of what power the engine puts out, am i missing the point here
I see, Personally I wouldn't bother. If there is nothing wrong with your turbo ones, leave them alone. The magnacors might be OK on the n/a, but be shafted on the turbo.
You can get the oem toyota leads cheaper by going to TCB parts
Also ive seen magnicores fall apart at the king lead and the plug boots. Gone through a few oem sets and theyve always held up imho.

Likewise. Magnecor are about as strong as a glass hammer. Expect to pull a plug lead off only to be left with the boot still on the plug and the remains of the lead in your hand. Notwithstanding their ability (or therein lack of) to handle higher power, they're just cack.
ive had a set of blueprint ones on my rev 1 turbo (15psi) and i havent had to change them for 5 years.
cant say about how they cope with massive power increases but i have found blueprint parts to be really good (for me anyway)
