Go for a decent chargecooler. Then at least you get to keep the car somewhat practical

Water is a better heat exchanger than air too :thumleft:

Use a side mount and water injection for that. Boot mount will make it laggy, and overkill for your goals. :thumleft:

Yeah a smaller bootmount would'nt make it too laggy and i have a reverse mount inlet manifold too so pipe work would be no more than a side mount and not really fancing water injection
So id be better getting a smaller bootmount than a larger one?

To reduce lag, Yes. Smaller bore pipes, thinner IC will reduce lag and speed up flow. But higher charge temps.

So what you think pipe size would be good for 400bhp?
2.75 or 3"?
Would a cheap ebay intercooler be good or would it be worth spending more on a hks, trust or forge?
Cheers

Personally, if I was going for 400bhp, I'd not scrimp on doing it properly by fitting an ebay cheapy intercooler.

Just my 2p mind :thumleft:

Greddy/HKS/ARC etc etc :thumleft:

Yeah i thought the ebay cores might be ok as nathan, yas and chris used one i thought?
Would a better make one flow more or make more power?

The ones we used were 6" core with 4" pipework though. A little different to your plans. This size IC on a 3071 would never work.

I would not go into the boot for a 3071.

My appologies mate, I was talking about the side mount xs power greddy style copy. Then just remembered you're after a boot mount #-o Ignore my post, I have no experience of the universal big cores off ebay.

Yeah i know i should use a side mount and water injection but i really like the look of a boot mount and i already have a reversed rmr inlet manifold and a scoop ect for under the car. So pipe work would be around the same length as a side mount. And i really apreciate everyones help! Thanks!
What about this
