Steering wheel boss for a Rev 5?

Post by James-UK »

Got a new wheel on it's way, but I'm struggling to find out whether any MK2 boss will fit a Rev 5? Is it the same boss for all Revs or will I need to hunt for a specific one?

All the ones I see on Ebay seem to have come off Rev 1's / 2's, and I really don't want the hassle of having to send one back if it doesn't fit!

Found a HKB kit on JDM & Driftworks which seem to be the right one.

Airbag, indicator cancelling, light cancelling etc. Think I'll be waiting months on Ebay for one to come up so will probably just get a new one.

Quick question for those who have put a boss on an airbagged MR2. Is there room within the boss to store the airbag wire or did you have to cut it?

Make sure the boss you get has the hole cutout for the plastic adapter, this is my current MOMO boss as fitted to my airbag Rev4.

The airbag in my car had no wires coming from it, the only wires within the assembly were for the dual horn buttons on my original steering wheel.

Cheers mate. I've seen your stuff before, but couldn't find the correct MOMO boss. Got the part number?

Also, if the drivers airbag is removed, does it disable the passenger one too? I'd feel terrible if I had an accident and my gf got seriously hurt because I disabled it!

Luckily I found the box for it the other day, its 12112117728.

Can't help you about the passenger airbag though as mine doesn't have one. I would imagine it's seperate though to avoid conflicts if one of them fails.

To be honest I've not actually physically looked in my car to see if it has one either. I looked in the manual but doesn't mention one at all, will have to go downstairs and check later. Just assumed Rev 5's had them!
