Not so much giant killing as punching above it's weight. The Xenon is able to compete with cars in a different class running an additional 50bhp!

Lovely bit of driving shame you couldn't make it stick, but v impressive given the power difference.

Haha that's a beast!
Re: Rogue XP1 - Adding Lightness...
If only I had a 2ZZ engine - that 50bhp and 1,500 rpm extra would come in really handy.

I've been following this with interest, especially now my MR2 has gone and I'm looking at a kit car as a replacement.

LOL you might as well.
Isn't common knowledge that the Corolla compressor is a rubbish car with a great engine. Bit like the 20V 'Trueno' BRZ nonsense.

Now 2ZZ equipped! Wet race so short shifting a lot to try and stop the wheels spinning:

Nice run
I've yet to venture out in the wet in my Westfield, however I've heard how lively these cars are when grip is limited. Well, I've yet to do a great deal in it really, seeing as the engine's in bits...

Are the Xenons road legal/road useable, or could they be made so?

Yes, they can be made road legal - I fully intend to do this to mine - it's as close to a motorbike as I'm allowed!
Some more race footage, this time from the Birkett Six Hour Race. The MR2 at the beginning has a tuned BEAMS engine:

Re: Rogue XP1 - Adding Lightness...
Could you give me a ballpark figure for the cost of a road legal version with the higher spec engine - the one from the Elise/Celica, iirc? - and would it be best to source my own Mk3 donor or do you keep tabs on suitable cars?
Cheers
