Aftermarket 4-2-1 for the NA?...

Post by riot68 »

Have a Magnex stainless cat back and decat on the car at the mo and am looking at changing the rest for stainless too, however can't seem to find anywhere selling them, anyone know if the parts are available, especially a 4-2-1 manifold? Any ideas or suggestions please...

Isn't the standard system 4-2-1. I'm guessing the standard manifold is better than stainless.

There is no gain in upgrading it.

If you still want to do it: Fujitsubo Super Ex.
If I recall correctly, the only one available for the 3SGE.

(apart from maybe crappy Ebay ones)
(and the above one is even discontinued)

Ok, might be best to stay with what I have then, thought it would look better and perform a little better too, cheers...

Best to have a custom one made. Would only cost circa £500 and you would gain as much as 0.5 BHP.

If you just want it to look pretty, is it possible to powdercoat manifolds?

Yeah might paint it with some HT paint, the ebay ones all seem to be 4-1...

Not powder coat. Will burn off almost immediately.

Either ceramic coat (looks good plus retains heat) or HT paint.

Look forward to talking.

We've had a few N/A manifolds done. Cut old brakets of, smooth old welds out so no evidence they exisited, then fully ceramic coated. Had the same done to my Noble manifolds.

yes indeed, have some new wheels on the way, hopefully if work goes well i'll have the cash for tyres so they can go with the new suspension set up too, then just a respray, and a good old engine clean up, or swap haha...

How much does this cost, roughly?

Depends on prep. time and size of part, but £200-£300 is about average.

Would you not better off getting some sort of stainless steel heat shield knocked up?
