Track day toolkit

Post by decker2 »

Okies, in addition to standard toolkit I'm thinking of taking;

Helmet
Spare fluids
WD40
Duct tape
Cable ties
Circlips
Tyre pressure gauge

Any other recommendations?

I also use a tyre inflator which does as a gauge as well. Potentially more useful if you wish to adjust your tyre pressures during the day.

20 litre jerry can is useful. I find I use up to a tank and a half of fuel, so taking a jerry can, means I don't have to rush off at lunchtime to refill.

I'd also recommend you get proper driving shoes or better still racing boots.

I use Puma speedcats generally if I'm driving my car, but I have a couple of pairs of race boots (dancing shoes I call them) for when I'm on track.

Good idea about the other stuff. I just take a basic toolkit plus cable ties and engine oil as well as the aforementioned stuff.

To be fair, I normally go with a number of friends and have access to tools if I needed them from the TDO whom I know well, so I feel well covered in that respect.

Ye all that lauren said. I use thin sole running shoes to drive in.

A screwdriver set is useful for the same reason cable ties and duct tape are.

Dont forget both parts of your driving license and the indemnity form(s).

Thanks, a tyre inflator is a lot better idea #-o

I've got some thin soled trainers which are my favorite driving shoes, racing boots sound like a good idea for the birthday present list!

I think my first outing is going to be Blyton Park, get the feel for the new car before taking on Cadwell :D

Indeed I take :
Trolley Jack
Spare wheels
Duct tape
Cable ties
Oil
Digital pressure gauge and pump

Alongside an asortment of regular handtools as usually there are many other people that carry alot of tools which are happy to let you borrow them.

Made good use of my kit, got black flagged second time out! Fortunately just a bit of loose undertray flapping about, trolley jack and a couple of cable ties all sorted.

Only other thing to add is disposable nytrile gloves
