Rev 3 3VZ-FE = 'elz bells' *lots of photos added*

Post by StuRobinson88 »

Hi all.

Original for sale thread - http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=150028
Here are a couple of pictures of my latest acquisition :)

as you can see from the photos, and my for sale thread (shameless plug!) i have replaced the steering wheel with a rev 4 item. also, changed the white TRD gearknob for a black leather one.

It's a rev 3 that the previous owner, JO5MA5, has put a 3VZ out of a Camry in.

Future plans, in no particular order, include;

Restore the tail lights and toblerones to their original condition
Repair the (suspected) exhaust rattle/knocking
Clean and tidy the engine bay
Redo the dash
Rewire the cooling fans (on constant, need a switch put in)
Redo all wheels, they are matte and have been done to a low standard
Redo all callipers, now looking tired, and I don't want them red
Right hand rear arch requires repair
Sills both need replaced due to rust :(

The go is wonderful, the fuel economy is laughable, it's brilliant! Getting around 250 miles to a tank, so I need to do some sums and see what could be up with excessively heavy fuel consumption.

Thanks all, Stuart.

I thought I could crack 300 to be honest...! Lol.
Sorry for the lack of photos, can't Upload them on my iPad as stupid apple won't use flash!

Also, affectionately known as elz bells by the mrs due to the number plate!

Thanks, stu.

You might do better if you do decent length drives, warm up yadda ya. I think the best I've heard of out of a 3VZ is about 300 but it was on long, warmed up drives.

thanks for the replies, all.
i have just done an MPG calculation for the past 125 miles (formby to carlisle). sat at 70 or less on the motorway until penrith, then sat at 70 to 85 for the last 15 miles or so, i achieved almost 27 mpg.
wasn't too miffed at that, but would like to have broken the 30 barrier!!
i am just back home now, so going to sort my kit out, then wash it and do a couple of jobs if i get chance.
i'll get some photos up later.

cheers, stu.

Welcome, I got a 3VZ as well, I am addicted to the sound :)
I did 300 mile on a tank, although that was mainly highway.
Good luck with your project.

I love the car mate. If I was going to stick a different engine in mine this is the one that I would go for.

Looks lovely in the photos :D

it looks lovely in my account too, especially at £1.40 a litre to feed the thing! haha. if i ever need reminding why it costs so much to run, i can just put my foot down in any gear and that usually does the trick.
maybe that's why it's costing me so much to run. it's a vicious circle!!
and thank you.

Very nice :thumleft:

If I push the "Go" pedal right the way down my fuel gauge dips. It does go back up, however that dip is enough to slow you down. :D
