Just make sure you apply the black![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
sealant to the Tbat rubber not the car rubber, and the cling film on the opposing area of seal on the car
(about 2mm thickness is all you will need).![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Finally, replace the Tbars while wet, so it
'fills up the gap'.
You can cut away excess the next day.
The leak seems to occur on the diagonal/vertical part of the seal where it contacts the body seal

Re: t bar cling film method
I'm off out in a bit and I'll take some pictures for you, I also tried the washer trick and that helped but the silicone finished it off.
Water free for about 5 months now ![thumleft :thumleft:](./images/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif)

Re: t bar cling film method
Yes, silicone on the tbar panels and cling film on the car, then the only slightly messy looking bit is on the panels, so don't see it when they're on and don't see it on the car when they're off, winner.

Its the part marked red where you need to place the silicone, just make sure you dont block the drain channels

Re: t bar cling film method
I use silicone spray on the rest of the seal to give it a good hold so all my rubber looks shiny, if you do it neatly you don't notice it ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Tried the sealant and clingfilm.Unfortunately,it didn't work for me or I didn't do it properly.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Still got the tube of sealant somewhere in the garage
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The washers in the bracket method WORKED for me,well 95% of the time
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If anyone wants the tube of sealant for free,PM me.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: t bar cling film method
Hope it works for you OP.
I tried all methods and all worked for a time
(1-2 yrs) but in the end I gave in and got new rubbers from the states.
