Hello Everyone

Post by kyrocera »

Hello,

Been lurking here for a while so thought id introduce myself. My name is Paul and im around the Southampton area.

This is my MR2 I bought last year, 1997 I think is a REV4 but could be wrong.

See my garage for picture (no URL's for newbies)

To be honest I was a little disappointed in its performance (all stock) I took it to a perfomance specialist in Andover who had a look and found a few things wrong, temp air sensor was unplugged, and timing was off by 10 degrees

Had it tested on the rolling road which produced about 110 at the wheels and the guy said its not the quickest MR2 hes driven and doesnt have much grunt at the low end :(

It was better on my drive home after being "FIXED" but still lacks that Umph! you would expect maybe due to the low BHP. Im not sure what else I can do without spending loads on a new exhaust/manifold etc...

I will be getting the Cap and Rotor arm/HT leads replaced with its next service.

Thanks
Kyro

Hey mate

sounds like it just needs some TLC you've already improved things.. I'd say

Dizzy
Rotor
New sparkies
oil change..
clean the air filter..

 Should get some more horses out of it..

I just bought the Cap + Rotor from camskill have only run it so far for 100 miles or so but seems all good. Camskill generally quite good.
