Hi Guys
I have got some adjustable cam gears and have no idea what they are off of. All have same size keyway in centre but are slightly different sizes in diameter (probably 2mm increase from each wheel to next)
How can I find out what they fit as they have no markings except brand name and their websites dont ave much information
Do all adjustable cam wheels fit any vehicle? They all have round grooves for the belt and made from Billet alloy.
1 is AEM Trutime
1 is DC Sports
1 is Jackson Racing
All allow 10 degrees a/r
Any help would be welcome. If you want pics let me know.
Cheers
Lee

Re: Adjustable Cam Gears
Cam gears are specific to an engine.
Variations include pyhsical fitment to the cams, number of teeth, diameter etc.
If no part number on them, then you're going to have a long job finding out what they fit.

Re: Adjustable Cam Gears
A general question:
Could you fit adjustable cam gears to adjust stock cams? Would there be much to gain from this? Safe enough?
All provided that you had stand alone management.

Re: Adjustable Cam Gears
I'm only guessing, but I'd expect Toyota would have sorted the 'optimum' duration and timing of the stock cams when developing them.

..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Correct. But they might have optimised for mixed driving, not top end power.

Re: Adjustable Cam Gears
Ryan G recomends running a vernier on just the exhaust cam of stock rev 3 cams as he can adjust the exhaust cam timing to increase turbo spool a fraction. Leave the stock gear on the stock inlet cam though.
