Not really no. The gen3 n/a motor is almost the pick of the bunch too.

I'd just try and buy a turbocharged mr2 if I were you.

It depends how far you want to go?

A set of decent cams coupled with an ecu , decent inlet and proper exhaust should see some decent gains.

I don't think I've ever heard somebody say an N/A is "mind numbingly slow". What the hell did you used to drive!?

From 0 to 60 it is and specially when you slow down in the 2nd and 3rd gears and try to pick up speed the car just doesnt respond.I drive a crappy 2 ltr civic also.

Which cams and ecu and where can i get them? What will the accelaration be from 0-60 after mods? Cos i know that anything above 6 seconds from 0-60 is mind numbingly slow.

fuel...

Post by 2tmike »

from what I've heard octane ratings are much lower in India ? so engines will be detuned to cope with this ( Euro Camry has about 200bhp)..so a toluene type additive in the fuel to boost octane rating and set up the ignition to suit this will give a lot more power....

I think the fuels 93 octane in my cuntry and my car is UK spec and it was never made for my cuntry.I've advanced ignition to 13 btdc.Do you think using 97 octane will make a difference in the accelaration?

Yeah, that's strange. I'd say mind numbingly slow to be anything sort of 10 secs+ :-k

6.2 to 60 is NOT mind numbingly slow!

That 6.2 very optimistic for a standard rev3 n/a 0-60 LOL

But i agree with monstr2 the N/A's are mind numbingly slow now
