Here's the last instalment for the gear surround mod. The original chrome version drove me nuts when the sun came out !
This fits really nicely, and is now how it's staying

I got one of the dommenator shifter surrounds from the US.

You do too many cool mods, Gaz. Out of curiosity, how did you get the surround to fit considering the usual gaiter is a rectangular shape and from the looks of things, considerably longer than the Fiesta surround is wide? I got in the '2 today after reading this thread and was wondering.

Thanks buddy
I modified the existing surround using fibreglass and body filler. Then made a new cut out for the fiesta trim, and it's mounting lugs.
I've actually got a template that i've made, to create an overlay for the existing gear surround, that will enable people to simply trim their existing one using a dremel or similar, and then fit the overlay with the fiesta trim pre-attached, using 3m double sided film.
Makes it dead simple to do, and a very quick mod.

So, about that Traders account...
Edit : Have you got a thread going with all of your home-made modifications on it or are they all on individual threads?

Haha, excellent. Part of me was hoping you'd say "In a few months" so I can save up a few quid first, but oh well!
