3 out of the 4 boots need replacing so might aswell do all lot, however they are £80 per driveshaft from Toyota.
Im all for doing things properly but im not paying £160 for 4 bits of rubber out of principle.
Anyone had success with these universal types and got any links to some decent alternatives?
Other than that isnt there any other cars out there with the same sized boots?
Ive used a search and there does seem to be much on this :/
Cheers!

Re: Mr2 Turbo Universal CV Boots?
The main problem with replacing CV boots is that the CV joint needs to be dismantled from the shaft. (not an easy job)
I've used 'stretch' type boots on an old Carina II and they worked fine. The are fitted over the splined ends and put on back-to-front if that makes sense. You need a plastic cone to fit them. No dismantling required.
Ones for the MR2 are available here:
http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/toyota-m ... 10583.html
Also - all four can be fitted without the drive shaft being removed from the gearbox. (thus avoiding the risk of damaging the oil seal and forking out more cash)

We only supply OEM boots.
We've fitted cheap ones that customers have brought in themselves, and they rarely make it beyond the next MOT.
Suits me since we get paid to fit another one!
If you intend keeping the car, i'd fit OEM boots.

They are a lot of money - but the aftermarket ones are paper thin compared to genuine toyota! Hence why they last all of 2 minutes.
