Boot mount intercoolers - Questions....

To all the guys running BMIC;

What intercooler are you using?
Where did you get it (and piping)?
Cost all in?
If you were doing it again, what would you change (i.e. angle of IC?)
What exhaust are you using?

The routing of exhaust is a concern (heat soak etc) to me.
Side exit would be perfect, but noise limits on track days will ruin me!

I got my BMIC 2nd hand off eBay, although I haven't gotten round to fitting it yet. Am planning on ducting air from the floor via a vent and continue the vent around so it flows out the back between the lights if that makes sense.

As for heat soak from the exhaust, I don't see it as too much of a problem considering FMIC's are sat up against radiators etc... Although I'd love a vent exit exhaust!

Which vents mate
The upper boot vent is from a Subaru impreza, the under boot vent was measured & designed by me then a friend fabricated it for me

What's the benefits of having the I/C mounted vertically, and/or horizontally?

I'd be keen to mount mines horizontally but sloping down a bit towards the rear of the car.

BMIC pics are in there, its undergone two stages as the first used the stock intake and the second uses a custom side -intake plenum. My fans suck the air downward through the intercooler and the airflow is supplied from a modification to the cars side air vents. Everything is custom made but tbh it wasn't that expensive to do.. prob about £400 for everything? What i am going to do tho is alter the end tanks on the IC as the design is crap. I still get very good AITs even like that tho!
