Re: 3SGTE sprint & Track mk1 build
have just finished a few interior mods... all adding to that all important racey look..
Cluster above the screen is ACC, ON and push start. has a neat function where after switching the ON switch, the button will flash for 20 seconds, after this if the engine has not been started, you have to start the sequence again. stops it accidentally being pressed once running!
switch next to it is for intercooler and engine bay fans, switching between either ACC or overide when engine is off
Blue switch is the 10 position motec map controller, at the moment controls boost etc
red button below is calibration for the wideband o2 gauge
Buttons below and screen are the datalogger controls and display
Back looks like this...
milling the carbon panel

Yes I do please Alex! Will drop you a pm in the new year!
Re: 3SGTE sprint & Track mk1 build
From personal experience, you want that O2 sensor calibration button well out of reach of the driver. It's very easily pressed by accident and if you're driving then your calibration (and presumably O2 feedback trim) turns to crap!

Re: 3SGTE sprint & Track mk1 build
Makes sense, cheers Patrick!
I havent upgraded the Motec to pro yet, hence wideband isnt feeding the ECU, so only issue of accidentally touching would be the display above reading incorrect.
Will be worth considering for when i do get round to it though.

Did you build it yourself, or buy it pre-built?
I've got one lying around as well, just never got around to building it

Mark (my fiancee) custom made the dataloggers from his own design. He designed it from scratch and had PCU boards printed and assembled everything as well as writing all the code. So the datalogger is not a 'kit' you can buy and build yourself. Mark sold about 5 of them IIRC, this was year ago.

Re: 3SGTE sprint & Track mk1 build
Think he spent around £1500 on parts, which were all OEM from Toyota. This is the engine that's going in my AE86.
All my fault of course for blowing it up at Elvington.

Ah, it was you, was thinking, but couldn't remember!
Still, nice to see that of the 5 odd he sold that at least Neil's will now actually be used!

Re: 3SGTE sprint & Track mk1 build
Thanks everyone, couldn't even count the amount of hours gone into this thing!
Took it out and up to full boost for the first time in around 4 months today! forgot just how quick / scary this thing is, really do need to focus my driving for next years sprinting.
Mark helped me loads with the datalogger, wired up the new huge screen i bought from America and made the button board for me, milling was done at his workshop, also programmed me a special start up sequence....
