Noob: Hello all from the Isle of Skye

Post by CecilWard »

Hello to all, from a very windy yet warm and occasionally squally rain-lashed Isle of Skye

Am looking forward to getting my new 1987 Mk1b, which will be my third mr2 mk1. It's being fully restored by superbclassics.co.uk, hello Dafydd, diolch yn fawr iawn.

Had a brand new mk1a in 1986, gorgeous. Then in 1998 I got myself a rusting 1989 mk1b in pink, which rotted away to its death in 2001.

Mr2s aside, I've been driving various Subarus in recent years, most recently a savage 3.0L flat six Legacy Spec B, which is up for sale right now because got to make room for the new mr2, so it's yours if you're interested.

Have also got another Subaru (Forester diesel) and a ten year old Landy with big tyres on it, which is fun.

And...
Confession: Am currently getting used to my first 997 gen ii C2S as well, traumatised by this experience.

Welcome to IMOC.

In order to stop spammers we have selected to have a minimum of 15 posts before you can post pictures and links.

So the easiest way is to get around te forum a bit, make some enquiries, respond to a few posts and update here.

Am sure you'll find everything you need and I look forward to seeing the pics.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

If you have paid your 7.50, I wonder if that could be made to mark you as respectable, a non-spammer.

Welcome, from another (less-rained-upon) newbie. :)

The same Cecil that pounced on the 4AGE and 6-speed that Paul Woods jst advertised? (Before I even had time to decide whether buying it was a good/bad idea)? :D

@5705 Guilty. I was up at 4am, persuaded my dear wife that this was a 'must', PM'ed Paul some time around five o clock. The rest is history. Friends? :)

Yeah - no hard feelings! ;)

Not even going to wonder why you two were awake and surfing at 4am!

ah. That's definitely an "if only" and an "I wish".

Unfortunately, I've been ill for some time with something neurological which I definitely won't bore you with and which means I get a lot of pain at times. And that was one of those many nights when I couldn't get to sleep, in fact was awake the whole night, and Janet was above and beyond the call in keeping me company.

The missus was kind enough to buy me a mk1b and get things started on its restoration, all as a treat to cheer me up. Now she has been a star and then some.

Anyway, an exciting end to a long night. And now you mr2ers know a little bit about me. :-)
