Anyone want to join me in an MR2 appreciation post today? Leave the problems out of the equation for a while :thumleft:

Indeed it is :) Looks great.

I used to love my black GT4 looking like that after I'd polished it. And then 5 minutes later the inevitable dust came down and it looked poo :(

Wow. Especially the middle pic.

I was under the impression that after sealing the finish with a good wax it would be a case of simply wiping down or a quick rinse to get it back to shiny (at lease for a few months anyway). Is that not the case?

Cheers people!

Racer7: Waxing does help, but the fine dust of the carpark (its pretty much just a field with no grass) just seems to stick to it all over. Mabye more noticeable because it's black. However, it does help when it comes to washing all the mud/ dust off afterwards!

The products i use are nothign too special, just lots and lots of water and elbow grease! No polishing machines here \:D/

Generally i start off by wetting the car as much as possible to get rid of most of the dirt, clean the wheels, then shampoo the body with just normal, off the shelf, turtlewax stuff. Then i give it a good drying with a MAH-HOO-SIVE autoglym cloth/towel. Once it is totally dry (even the door shuts and underside of the frunk and engine lid etc) i use Turtlewax "ice" if it is a sunny day, or Meguires "tech wax" if it isn't (as the meguires stuff can't be used in direct sunlight).

Polishing generally takes about 1-2 hours of sheer determination, but is well worth the effort in the end. If i am feeling generous i will give it 2-3 coats of wax, but the "Ice" stuff doesn't seem to need more than one.

now you know. :thumleft:
