It just amazes me, the crazy bhp they can put into fwd cars now. How do they feel they can put that many bhp into these boxes and not have the thing (i) set light to a pair of front tyres or (ii) head for the nearest hedge?

Traction control is a major part of the answer I suppose? part, but not the whole.

try against a tuned st .. i drive one.. they are very quick..
the one i drive is around the 320-330 mark adn its quicker and more agressive than the RS
the mr will still get better traction... but mid range its mad...

its the same with everything, standard mr2 t against stardard st would be down to gearing etc the mr would get better traction so expect the mr2, but not by loads, but you would be a lot more comfy in the st and know you can drive it hard all of the time.
where as you start tuning its a completly different story.. all depends how tuned and how deep ya pockets are
