Also my new head unit has a built in amp,does this cause a problem,as i believe there are built in amps in the mk2 mr2 anyway,my mr2 is a n reg uk spec car.

I am just about to fit a kenwood kdc-bt50u into my mk2 mr2.There is at the moment another kenwood head unit in there,but it doesn`t have the surround on as i presume it doesn`t fit,is this a problem for most head units(no surround can be put on).

If you do not have either version of the premium sound system (one or two standard 'subs'), then there are no external amplifiers, unless they have been retro fitted, so you wont have any problems.

my mr2 mk2 has a sub in the back of the seat,standard mr2 spec.If that helps.

the surround on my kenwood wouldnt fit, but could probably be glued on ok if done carefully
