Release date is almost certain to be 8/11/11 according to the leaked posters. Will be interesting to see the quality of the game from an IW post-West/Zampella/all the other folks. I'm not sure why they're bothering advertising the game from an SP POV given that 95%* of people buy a CoD game for the MP these days.

Black ops is call of duty.

Modern Warfare 3 is not CoD, just Modern Warfare.

They split after Cod4.

Wonder whether MW3 will shed the cod name.

No they wont lose (notice I didnt write loose ) the CoD name as that is the franchise.
They wanted to get rid of it for MW2 but weren't allowed to.

Thought I remember something about them wanting to split Cod and MW, but didn't realize they weren't allowed.

Didn't they just drop the 'number' from the CoD part of the title?

CoD 4: Modern Warfare.
CoD 5: World at War.
CoD: Modern Warfare 2.
CoD: Black Ops.

World at War was the first to drop the number. CoD4 was the last to officially have a number

Game , the cheeky bastards, put the price of Dragon Age 2 back up to 40 notes from a reduced 20 when the network went down.

It made me laugh when the PSN came back online.

I just got a reel of newsfeeds on facebook saying

"aaaah, I can play COD again now"


I just pictured them on the verge of a breakdown because they couldnt play it and then the relief when they could again.

I know a guy who's missus is so addicted to CoD and couldn't stand being without, that she went down to GAME and bought a 360 + CoD to play in the meantime. Now that the PSN is back up, the 360 is for sale

I know every one has hobbies and stuff, but some people are just too addicted to some things.

IMO, a PS3 of a 360 is wasted if all people do is play the same game over and over and over in what I call "repetetive mode" - IE OLMP.

These consoles offer so much, and the majority of people use them for so little
