Do either of them overheat?

Are you losing water, might just need a good bleed.

but if it is the red one ya losing oil pressure so don't run her. this would also point at hg failure! are they metal hg's?

I suggest a compression test and maybe a leak down test :thumleft:

It's pressure in the turbo, level in the NA
Current: 2007 Porsche Cayman S

Sorry to hijack, I think my head gasket is on the way out too after reading this.

She's never overheated but i have seen a puddle of coolant on the floor before now. I have lots of air coming from the oil filler cap when running and a tiny bit of mayonnaise on the cap too (Although I do a lot of extremely short journeys) but no bubbles in the coolant. (Rev 1 N/A)

Can you just change the head gasket without having it shimmed?

Thanks

Steve

yes you can but I would suggest getting your head pressure checked and valve clearences checked also. it just makes sence while it is off! you may need to face the head and block aswell if using a metal head gasket or it will just go again. it all depends on what you find :thumleft:

sorry to here about your woes :(

Good idea to have it all checked out. Would you recommend a metal one then?

Not to worry, there are plenty of engines kicking about :)

Thanks for your help!!
