[Mk2] [Turbo] Goodbye Mongoose and Teins - Hello Nur Spec and BCs

Post by Rory »

Managed to get a good price on some new BC coilovers and a Nur Spec and thought I would treat my new MR2 to some goodies. Couldn't justify the money for Tein coilvers this time round. Heard some good things about BCs so thought I would give them a try. Got to say the ride is as good as the super streets on my last tubby. Even set to fairly hard they are fine on our shitty UK roads. Originally had the car slammed but had to raise it a bit today as my front tyres were catching the outer arches slightly.

Huge thanks for Luke (AKA Skywalker) and Nick at Pacific Works for the fitting. If anyone is interested in my old Tein S springs then give Luke a shout - They had only been on the car a couple of years. Perfect condition.

Piccies of the car now after I raised it a bit.

Out of interest whats the distance between the centre of the wheels to the top of the inside arch, I have the same wheels with -30mm Apex springs and was interested as mine are at 330 front and rear.

PS car looks very nice with them wheels :D

Yeah the Tein S springs gave a wicked stance. Similar drop at the front to I have now in the photos above. Rear on Tein springs were slightly higher though

MM that could work as my rears are 245's and yours look like 235's so a slight lift on the back would balance the front.

How's the "cough" comfort compard to the coilovers.

My rears are 245 wide.

This is how it did sit with Tein Springs - Not much difference

The BC coilovers feel more comfortable to be honest that the Tein springs. Although im only running the BC half way between soft and hard

Yeah they are 35 profile. 40 will be fine with the Tein springs

Very nice fella! Twin exit man myself, but can't beat the sound of a decatted Nur spec on full chat

Sits nicely on those new coilys :thumleft:

I have it. It's not for sale at the moment. Need to have new flex welded in. Undecided about keeping it yet. May just keep for spare of incase I want to track the car
