[All] [Generic] 2ohm DVC or 4ohm DVC Sub??

Post by Steve-O 2007 »

Im new to car audio and need some help before I buy a new sub.

My 1000watt Crunch Amp has a 4ohm mono output for the sub (I think) and its currently running a 4ohm JL Audio sub

Im looking at Kicker Solobarics but they are Dual Voice Coils which is sort of confusing me

It says the 4ohm DVC version can be wired as 2ohm or 8ohm

or

the 2ohm DVC version can be wired as 1ohm or 4ohm

Which one do I go for???

Heres the manual for the Amp -

http://www.maxxsonics.net/manuals/crunc ... 0-4175.pdf

and heres the manual for the Sub -

http://www.kicker.com/sites/default/fil ... L72008.pdf

The amp also runs 2 front speakers, any help would be great :thumleft:

You want to go for the the 2Ohm DVC sub, and wire it in series to show the amp 4 ohms, assuming you are bridging a channel for it.
