Right today i set about giving Ant less work by cutting and sanding the arches a little to make them sit better. I also had a fiddle with the engine cover.

Right, the engine cover sat a little high. Easy fix as i was told ill need to lower the catch a little to make it sit tight.

So i did.

Hopefully here you can see where i used a file to extend the bolt holes.

Job done!

Image

Ok here you can see where the skirts and spats foul on the arches.

Image

Image

So what i did was unscrewed the spats and skirts and slid the arches behind them, then marked up there they overlapped for cutting.

Ok then after cutting and the arches look much better now. Once at the bodyshop i intend to have them blended in.

Not a bad days work! Started stripping bits to take to Ant next week so he can get started on preping parts

hey scotty, could you tell me where you got the border bonnet and what the quality was like, car looks great, iv got the carbenfibre arches coming to me too but im a bit concerned about the radius of the back ones, they seem a bit flat on top, hopefully they will look better when you have the wheels spaced out.

cant wait to see your car painted man.

thanks, steve.

GT- Yes mate its staying white but not this white! Gotta keep some secrets though!

Steve- I bought the bonnet from a forum member mate. Yea the arches have only been quickly fitted, once the cars been to the bodyshop that will sort any little issues.

Ben- I know mate im like an excited school boy!

Hi Ben, I have had an issue of waiting for a compensation payout to get the final bit done. But that should be all sorted in a few weeks now so just getting my car booked in with Ant and we should have some further progress very soon! [/i]

Really like this man! The arches seem to have been modified well around your spats and skirts!

Are those new lips which have been fitted to the wheels? like over lips?

If so thats pretty cool, something i have never seen before.

The engine cover and spoiler look sweet!

The car is just about ready for paint now. I'll get some pics up and a full write up soon, I don't have any internet at the moment so its a bit of a struggle!

Right here we go! The car is still in the bodyshop after problems, delays and just about everything else that can happen!

Im afraid that i havent been able to get pictures of everything because of the delays i didnt have enough holiday left to take the extra days.

Ant doesnt weld so the car had to be cut end welded else where, here are the rear arches after the welding

Image

Image

I decided to have my carbon spoiler painted with the car as im not a fan of carbon

Image

Once the car was back from the welders Ant set about getting the front arches to sit perfectly and also blend the front of the arches into the bumper and cut them so the lines carry on and they can also be removed.

Ok next up was the rear arches. Personally i always thought they were too bulbas for me and Ant agreed so we cut about 1inch to 1 1/2 inches off them.

As you can see compaired to the pics outside my garage they look better now. What we also did was shave down a bit of the rear spats to make the lines follow and extend the rear arches by the air intake to make them flow better.
