Can anyone tell me what the factory colour of the turbo rocker cover is?
I have just bought one to refurb and was wondering if anyone would be interested?

Standard scabby unpainted silver:
...been debating painting mine, but woudl quite like to do int without removing it from the car.
Not sure how good a job of it I'd make though.

I did mine 2 years ago with high temp matt black, just a quick makover but it's still going strong...I did take it off to prep and paint though....have you read the thread on powder coating in the Mk2 section

Do you think it would be do-able in situ?
I mean remove all pipes etc and mask everything up?
Or am I as well just removing it?

It'd be a lot easier & better overall result to remove it buddy. Plus, by the time you've removed all the ancillaries out if the way, it's only a few bolts & the cam cover is off anyway.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rocker cover
As I refurb mk1 covers they are a piece of p1$$ to remove. It looks like a lot of hassle to mask off everything in a mk2 engine?
If you dont prep it right it will fish eye and look poor
