[Mk2] [Turbo] Rocker cover

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

Can anyone tell me what the factory colour of the turbo rocker cover is?

I have just bought one to refurb and was wondering if anyone would be interested?

Standard scabby unpainted silver:

...been debating painting mine, but woudl quite like to do int without removing it from the car.

Not sure how good a job of it I'd make though.

I did mine 2 years ago with high temp matt black, just a quick makover but it's still going strong...I did take it off to prep and paint though....have you read the thread on powder coating in the Mk2 section :pale:

Do you think it would be do-able in situ?
I mean remove all pipes etc and mask everything up?
Or am I as well just removing it?

It'd be a lot easier & better overall result to remove it buddy. Plus, by the time you've removed all the ancillaries out if the way, it's only a few bolts & the cam cover is off anyway.

As I refurb mk1 covers they are a piece of p1$$ to remove. It looks like a lot of hassle to mask off everything in a mk2 engine?

If you dont prep it right it will fish eye and look poor :(
