Help ... Leaky mk3 ???

Post by gforceuk »

My cars been fine for a week in the wet .

But

I put the hood down for the first time yesterday fitting a stereo in it .

Last night we had another downpour and when I got unit today I could hear water swishing around behind me.

I checked the behind seat luggage compartment and it had water in the recess .

Is this a known issue ? Or have I incorrectly put the hood back up ?

Any quick help appreciated

yes you need to clear your drains out.

they let the water through.

You can see the top of them when the hood is down and they exit behind the side vents.

carefully remove the side vents, I suggest with a spatula or something similar that wont damage any paint. Then you will see a flap that will probably be stuck closed or blocked with gunk.

If you clean this out, eg use a coat hanger from the above hole and some water or from the side vent if you go in that way. That should sort it out.
