Finally fitted my suspension (With pictures)

Post by mr2turbo99 »

Well after 2 weekends, i've finally finished putting on my BC coilovers, full prothane bush kit, new drop links and new ball joints all round.

Not the hardest job to do, just time consuming. Car still needs a few tweeks. The back is too low so its going up 20mm - 30mm and the front is going to come down 15mm or so. Apart from that im really pleased with the results.

Couple of piccies here too. The mitsi is my winter hack lol

I didn't tint them myself. I purchased these off LuizeGT and they came tinited.

Now that you mention it. Whats the legality surrounding tinted red indicators?

Looks nice. How low can you go on bc coilovers? Is that set to lowest on the back? What is the ride like?

Thanks :thumleft:

Not sure how low it can go to be honest. There is still plenty of thread left on the coilovers though lol. Haven't road tested it yet but im told the ride is pretty good. Its going to be tough to tell whats given the ride its charecteristics as i've completley overhauled the suspension (Bushes, links and ball joints)

Looks very nice :D I am tempted to get a set of these also...

What type of drop links did you use?

Any problem with rim clearance?

Thanks :thumleft:

I was going to use the original drop links but one or two of them were worn so i replaced the lot from a dealer on ebay. £34.50 for all four delivered. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-MR2-89-99- ... 3a5535f036

a few people have bought from this chap and have had good results. OEM is far too expensive.

No issues with rim cleareance however i haven't road tested yet. Having said that the rear is going to be raised slightly and the front dropped. Should be fine though.

Would you mind disclosing your rim width/offset?

Just so I know what is working ok before I take the plunge for my own car

Funny you should say that because i dont actually know. I put a post up a few weeks back on how to measure the offset but haven't had a chance to do it yet.

I run 225 tyres on the back, thats all i can tell you at the mo. Will let you know when i measure the offset/width. :thumleft:

That would be cool thanks!

I have 17x8 + 35, and 17x9 +38 so I'm possibly right on the limit.

Not wishing to dampen your spirits but have you checked the feedback for that seller? He seems to have a reputation for selling sub standard parts! Just hope your drop links last ok.

Nice looking car you have :thumleft:
