Couple of questions

Post by dgibson2004 »

Hi

I have just purchased a fantastic rev2 turbo with the following but have a couple of questions please?

The spec is as follows - car running in the region of 400bhp+

Forged CP Pistons
Eagle 'H' Beam Rods
Clevite 77 Tri-metal Bearings
Cometic Head Gasket
GT3071r Ball Bearing Turbo
GM Knock Sensor
Wolfkatz Fuel Rail
Sard 800cc injectors
Tial 38mm Wastegate
Walbro 255l/h
ST205 ChargeCooler and Pump
HUGE K&N Air Filter
Blitz Dump Valve
ARP Head Bolts
Helix Single Plate Clutch
Fidanza Flywheel & Bolts
Sard Fuel Pressure Regulator
Rogue Engine Bay Fans
Blueflame Twin Exit exhaust
HKS Valve Springs
HKS Cam Gears
HKS Timing Belt
264 Exhaust and Intake
Link G3 ECU
Re-conditioned Rev 3 Gearbox.

INTERIOR
180mph Speedo
Omori Boost Gauge 45mm in-dash
HKS Turbo Timer
Electronic Boost Controller greedy pro spec II.

My question is I believe the car is mapped at 1.8 bar can I use the boost controller to set the low setting to 1.1 bar and the high setting at 1.5 bar or would I need to get the ecu remapped to run lower boost?

Also looking at the spec of the engine what kind of boost is safe to run? (engine work/build carried out by Century motorSports)

I am also looking to get a couple of gauges in he car, after market boost gauge already fitted, but am also thinking oil temp/pressure gauge would you recommend any others?

Thanks in advance

Dom

i don't think you can lower the boost lower than what its mapped to, Air Fuel Mixture is a good one to have as well as fuel pressure gauges.

just lower the boost if you want......

all i can see happening is the car just running a tiny bit richer (which is a good thing) with lower boost....

there no reason why you cant even run on actuator/wastegate pressure which could be like 0.9bar on a turbo like that (guess).

Why don't you get in touch with Century- if they built the engine they will be able to advise on boost limits, etc :thumleft:

Thanks for the info.

Car is mapped unto 1.8 bar so is ok to lower boost on boost controller :D

Just need to work out how to use/set the controller now.

Thanks
