apparently its £20 trade in against anything in the shop. TDU2 will cost apparently £42 though so the difference to pay...

....is more expensive than the online GAME shop :(

Surely its got to be better than the first - 1 islands, better graphics, more indepth RPG element to it?

Is the handling better / worse than the 1st?

I bought this on Saturday and traded in Need for Speed against it. My thoughts after 2 days of playing are that it is just fun. The car handling is very arcady but there is now a big difference between rear, front and 4WD cars. There are some glitches at the moment (cant get out of your garage or you're signed in but "offline") but they will be fixed shortly. Ibiza is very different to Hawaii though - the former being twisty and the latter being a MUCH higher speed island.

I liked Need for Speed and so I get on with this game quite easily. It is better than the old TDU but, if you are a Forza only fan, then I'd say give it a miss.

If anyone has bought this for XBOX, give me a shout and we can do some stupid driving around the islands etc :thumleft:

Crispy - is it possible to drift the cars in tdu2? The thing that really pi$$ed me off in the first one was the fact the cars couldn't be kept sideways. It was either understeer or spin. All those awesome bendy roads and no way of showboating!

Yeah you can drift but not for ages though. Biggest I've managed was just over 100meters at 160+ mph :). Was well pleased but crashed head-on into a car shortly after lol

Perfect understeer - yes - bags of it ! :thumleft:
Controllable, fun (but not stupid like NFS hot pursuit) oversteer...erm, it's eluding me at the moment. :-k

I've tried playing in the 3 modes of cr@p, sorry I mean 'handling' options. When I first fired the game up I set it to 'hardcore' since, well, I play a lot of sim racing games so I like to see how cars handle without assists.
I'm finding either all assists on, or 'sport' actually seem a bit better but you do have to battle with understeer, a lot.

Hows everyone finding it? There will be a big update fairly shortly to address all the current issues (not being able to join friends etc).
When sorted, I'll sort an IMOC club if anyone wants to join :D

So who's still rocking the orginal?

Maybe we need to hook up on that one evening for a lap of the island! Sounds like more people are playing TDU1 than they are TDU2!

I remember when this was coming out on the pc, I was watching the trailers on youtube etc for ages, the release date was delayed and delayed and i even bought a new graphics card. The original was amazing, even had a cheat to get 1 million so had a garage full of supercars and about 10 houses! Was going to buy this but it looks much the same as the old version with little or no improvements. The old one ruled though! :thumleft:

yeah it was one of the first proper open world racers and the car selection was huge! Suprised after such along gap between sequels they havent improved it to gt5ish standards. That would be awesome! How many players can go online at once?
