As above really - Rev3 N/A. I know intake kits don't really do anything for your horsepower, etc etc, but I want some sweet noise!
So, which intake kit is worth it ? K&N 57 seems to be cheapo ? What about APEXi ?
What about the JSP kit (well, the piece of pipe )
What do you guys recommend ?
Cheers
J

i have used the k+n on a previous mr2.
have also tried an apexi.
am currently using a recently purchased k+n on my rev5.
have to admit i prefer the k+n,both noisewise and value for money.

KN seems to be the value for money considering it's half the price of an apexi...
is is tricky to install ? got any pics of it fitted?

K&N it is!
one small thing, this flexi pipe that comes in the kit, to direct air at the cone (as I presume) what does that attach to ??

if you look at the second photo, you will see the black flexi.
this is fed into the vent area, secured with a long plastic tie.
positioned to direct air on to the k+n.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] I want my 2 to sound more hairychested! which intake ?
apexi for me only one that comes with a rain shield, suppose something could be fabricated for the k/n though, apexi fitment is very good and i got mine secondhand off ebay was only 3 months old i had a touch, instructions in japanese though but are apexi not trading anymore.
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

Where about's in Cambridgeshire are you, I'm in Wisbech and got a REV3 NA with the K&N 57i, and you're more than welcome to be taken for a spin to hear it. I work in Peterborough if that's closer.

have to agree mate
but as the op asked about which intake ?
this would have to be the sharp intake of breath,as he got the bill for
the conversion, works out a bit more expensive than a k+n. .paul.

I've had a pipercross on my rev1 for about 5 yrs now and lots of people have commented in that time on how good it sounds. That is in combo with a Blueflame ex and decat though I see in his garage the op has a bf backbox already. My sound really suits the look of the car. I had it for a few mths before the ex. system though and it did sound excellent on its own. Raspy. Now it's still raspy but deeper and raspy. With pops.
R.
PS. Jem where are you in P'boro? My 2 is in the middle of town a few days a week.

Yeah, they have a metalic, kinda dry noise to them. Had one on a straight intake on my GT4 and it kind of reminded me of a carb fed engine
