[Mk2] [Turbo] Failed MOT on emissions

Post by pa402 »

Hi

My car has justed failed its MOT on the fast idle CO2 emissions - I dont know what % it got cos the mot station couldn't give me a print out or even tell me!!

Im just after a bit of clarification on the emissions test my car should have gone through after reading the sticky on here.

Its an imported 94 rev3 turbo. I presume it has a CAT fitted.

Can you confirm that it therefore has to comply with the non CAT emission test standards as it does not appear on the VOSA car database rather than the much more stricter CAT test standards.

In the past its always just managed to pass the CAT equipped vehicle test with CO2 under 0.3%.

Cheers

they will give you grief as they won't want to admit a mistake on their part however there is no SW20 / 3SGTE match in the book and since it's an EXACT match they need you will win or at least get your test fee back. Be patient with them and be calm but be firm and they will check and see they are wrong. Get stroppy with them and they will make you go the whole hog and report them (then they get nervous and you're banned lol)
