i go to start her today and turns over fine but no ignition, i've been driving for the last few days in the snow without a problem, i checked a spark plug and solid spark but still no life..... confused. please help, any advice greatly appreciated.

if the engine is turning over.
you are getting a spark at the plugs,
it is more than likely to be fuel related. paul.

Check your fuses, start with the fusebox in the engine bay...a blown EFI fuse could give you the same symptoms
I'm getting fuel
just checked all the spark plugs, decent sparks and stinks of fuel, i'll check the fuses and let you know.

all fuses checked and all fine, in the engine bay and in the front, the EFI resistor is ok too.
tried to turn her over again and sounded a bit different, i presume due to a slightly discharging battery - which is fine btw!

Try Bridging B+ and FP in the diagnostics port, this will have the fuel pump running 100% of the time the ignition is on.
leave ignition in position 2 (dash lights but not running) for a few seconds and try starting it again.
could be fuel pressure / filter related

it's just that we subscrible to the theory of hitting it harder until it works. Or something falls off, in which case you've hit it too hard.

have you checked for error codes? water temp sensor...cold start switch maybe....I had a very similar prob to this and it eventually went away when I bled the coolant system.
