flashing lights

Post by woz_106 »

Hi all,

After picking up my first Mr2 about 3 weeks ago I have a question about the lights.

If I flash somebody With the lights off the headlights pop up flash then go back down on there own, but when I have the sidelights on(just the little square lights in the bumper) if I flash again the headlights pop up flash but they then stay up until I turn the lights completely off.

Just wondering if this is normal, the car is a 94 mk2 rev 3 turbo.

Cheers for the help. :D

I'd recommend putting a switch in, instead of just cutting the wire.
Unless you like having to put your headlights on every time you wash your car

Sorry to hijack, just a question on lights, my import rev1 has 3 light settings, a dot that seems to do nothing, then side lights, then main popup lights, what the hell is the first dot for?...

switch your headlights on.
then turn the switch to the dot that seems to do nothing,
your lights will go out. headlights will stay raised.
use this function when cleaning lights, changing bulbs etc.
hope this helps. paul.

Turn the lights on then move it too the dot position, Your lights will now be off but they will stall popped up (lets you clean them / change the bulb without having the lights on)

Maplin should have something suitable.
I think I got mine from Halfrauds, but it's a bit chunky

Anything suitable for 12V and 5amps (the amps is the important one, and I'm completely guessing at 5A, you could play it safe and get 15A or something).

edit:
This is the one I got (as I say, it's a bit chunky but does the job), no idea of the amps specification...
