For sale – 2003 MR2 Roadster Mk3 Turbo - £7750 ovno

Image

Regretfully for sale as needs must my Roadster Turbo, huge spec, which is both fun and a sheer pleasure to drive, couple the pin point go-kart handling of the last edition MR2 but with 220 horse power provides the ultimate drivers car with near super car performance whether as a daily drive or a track day toy.

I’ve owned the car for over 3 years now, and during my owner ship have refined the turbo install making it quick, yet reliable and reasonably practical as a daily drive, although for myself its been mainly a weekend and show time toy, garaged and only driven in the dry. I even did a Europe Roadtrip to Corfu in this car, believe me parting with this car is a difficult decision, and it will be dearly missed.

Full list of modifications below, but in brief the car is finished in silver with contrasting black hard top, and Rota Grid gunmetal alloys, all in excellent condition. Interior is full black leather, again in excellent condition. The car drives faultlessly, is currently SORN, but MOT’d until May 2011.

Turbo Modifications:
Hass Stage II intercooled turbo kit (this is the 2nd edition of the kit, with the MAF located post-turbo) with Garrett GT28R turbo Manifold and turbine housing has been ceramic coated
Exhaust heat wrapped
Sytec vent-to-atmos BOV
E-Manage tuned by Thor Racing
Profec E-01 boost controller
Red Samco couplings and vac lines
KrankVents (ensures proper venting of the crankcase to prevent it being
pressurised under boost)
Various bracing of the turbo and exhaust

Transmission Modifications:
ACT XTSS clutch (rated to 300ft/lbs of torque)
Lightweight flywheel
C’s short shift kit - and original shifter/spacers
Twos ‘r’ Us brass shifter bushings

Other Performance Mods
TTE lowering springs
Black Diamond Combi brake discs front & rear
EBC Green stuff pads
Goodridge s/s brake lines
‘Kirks’ solid engine mounts

Exterior Modifications
Toyota GB full bodykit
TRD rear spoiler
Jap spec nose badge in custom sparkle black
Crystal side indicators
‘LT’ short antenna

Interior Modifications
Momo Trek steering wheel in grey/black alcantara
Momo gear knob
Alpine Head unit with ipod connection lead with full on screen Ipod control
Focal 165-A speakers
‘Bama’ clear wind deflector

Cheers Dave :thumleft: yeah was really hoping to keep hold of it after JAE, but needs must mate, tough decision, and will be gutted to see it go, had some great times, lots of fun and fond memories, the car really is something else and the longest I've ever kept one car for, but really cannot justify it sitting in the garage, end of an MR2 era for me I guess, have to admit I've succumbed to the luxury and comfort of the M3! lol

absolutely gutted for you mate :(
its the end of an era for sure.
doesn't seem 5 minutes since we first got together
for the legendary cat runs, meeting up to attend the shows.
that rather rapid return from donnington,on a private road
of course.
and how many mr2 owners, have won awards at an outlaw
bike and ink show
certainly been some goodtimes fella :thumleft:
anyway good luck with the sale.
give our love to Lisa Pam and of course my mate Cyril.
hope whatever you do next is as good. Paul and Sue.

by the way now all the sentiment is out of the way.
for anyone who hasn't seen steve's car and might be interested
in purchasing it. its stunning.and truly a one off.

Well, looks like its sold Paul, received a deposit pending the chap sorting the finances this week, feeling a bit numb, but if it does go through its going to a good home and an enthusiast which is some consolation, still gutted to see it go though, lol, you're right fella had some really great times, and alot of great memories, met some great friends, never had so much sentiment attached to car, every mile I've covered in that car has been fun, will be in tears if I keep on lol :(

I won't be a long to any more Jap Shows/JAE etc, without the MR2s its not the same, but I'll be keeping in touch with my mates, through Facebook I guess, and you're more than welcome to pop around anytime for a brew mate, and we'll have to have the odd Cat and Fiddle run or a Wales run, but I'll be in the M3, still not had chance to take the M3 over there, been busy with the pup that is taking up all of our time :thumleft: All the best Paul, and thanks for the kind comments

Thanks guys :thumleft: who knows, lol, maybe! had MR2s for the last 6 years, and loved every minute of it, really going to miss the Roadster Turbo, had some great times, but things in life change I guess, and its sat in my garage for months on end, and with insurance costs as they are, its a bit of a unecessary luxury. Time for a change and quite liking the comfort and refinement of the M3 at the moment :)
