Air con rad mk2

Post by ryan »

Does anyone know how much these are new, or even have a good condition one? Most will be 10-20 years old now, with the fins corroding and falling out...

It doesnt exist! Thought I was cracking up as the a/c light was on and seemed cold, but no rad!
I hadnt thought of retro fitting, wonder if that will fit? I might try getting part no off Toyota and see if other cars have same one...

Email them or google the size of them, then it's just a case of finding out if the pipes can be mated to the rad

Have been comparing part numbers
I need 161017 (rev3 onwards) 161016 is rev2 and below, so there must be a difference. The other Toyota rad part nos are similar but different..
The OE number seems to be 8846017080

The Union where the pipes bolt on is a different diameter Rev3+

I've seen aftermarket Rads in the USA, but by the time you've added Postage and Duty you may as well have gone to Toyota.

Get friendly with the likes of Rogue, as they will be stripping rads from Import Rev3+ for the racing series - it's the preferred chassis (Hard Top, Better Engine)

Thanks Al, Steve, Paul, handy knowing where the difference is between the revs, might get in touch with Rogue to see if they have an ok condition used one...

i doubt your have much luck with rogue mate, i had to replace mine a cppl months back, gave rogue a call and they passed me on onto tb parts as they dont stock any as new (didnt have a 2nd hand one either), you mayby lucky though, ill have a look for the receipt for my rad from toyota, it was far from cheap, as said about £300 :( plus re gassing its a bit of a pain but worth it in the end :thumleft:
